New Wet n Wild Coloricon 5 Pan Eyeshadow Palettes

There's an entire new range of 5 pan palettes from Wet n Wild! I actually had no idea about them at the time, so of course that added on to my excitement. Unfortunately, I didn't get the quality that I was expecting.. sadly, these were a miss for me.

All swatches were two swipes each, without primer.

Claims: "Five amazing shades in one convenient package for an unbeatable price! Each eyeshadow palette features five distinct shades that can be mixed and matched to create a unique look for every style. From matte to ultra-shimmer, these long-lasting, highly pigmented formulas are satiny-smooth for crease resistant wear."

Pigmentation: Tunnel Vision was the most pigmented of the three. Some shadows were more streaky and patchy than others. Only a few were decently pigmented alone.

Finish/Texture: Each shadow has a different finish, some matte, shimmery, and glittery. The texture on all of the shadows was very powdery. Some of them also felt dry to the touch. I really didn't enjoy the texture on any of these shadows. 

Lasting Power: I honestly don't know how long they lasted, because I wouldn't wear them without other shadows/bases underneath. These are terrible without primer. 

Packaging: The packaging is very basic, and it includes a small brush and sponge tip applicator. I have no issues with it. 

Price/Availability: I paid $4 each for these at CVS.

Likes:

• Inexpensive
• Nice variety of shades

Dislikes:

• Powdery finish
• Poor pigmentation
• Primer/base is a must
• Do not live up to claims
• All around poor quality

Overall:

These palettes were just not the quality that I was expecting..

I felt like all of the palettes had a very powdery texture. Some of them were hard to blend and a bit on the dry side. The pigmentation was poor on it's own, some shadows were ok, but I personally would never wear them without primer. Even with primer though, these weren't good. Overall, I just felt like the quality was missing with these. Even at $4 a piece, I wasn't impressed!

Wet n Wild Megaslicks Balm Stains

It was only a matter of time before Wet n Wild got in on the 'jumbo lip pencil' trend. I'm not complaining, because I'm a sucker for lip pencils. I have tried and loved so many different ones high end and drugstore, so of course I had to get these ones! 

I could only find five shades, but there are six in total. I also heard that these are going to be permanent, so there's no need to worry about rushing out to find them!

Swatches from top to bottom: Nudist Colony, A Stiff Pink, Reddy or Not, Rico Mauve, and Lady and the Vamp. 

Nudist Colony is yellowy beige. A Stiff Pink is a bright blue based pink, Reddy or Not is a blue based cherry red. Rico Mauve is a deep pinky mauve. Lady and the Vamp is a bright reddish purple. These were two swipes each, all shades have a cream finish. 

Claims: I couldn't find any claims on these yet! 
Pigmentation: They are nicely pigmented. One or two swipes will get you full color. The stain they leave behind is also pigmented and not patchy. 
Finish/Texture:The finish is creamy with a subtle shine. The texture is very smooth.
Lasting Power: It lasted on me for about 3 hours. The shine dies down after that, and the stain it leaves behind is even and not dry or patchy looking. 
Scent: I didn't notice any scent.
Packaging: The caps on the tubes are really loose, so these may be hard to travel with.
Price/Availability: I paid $3 and ( I also got BOGO 50% off )each at CVS        


Likes:

• Pigmented
• Stain wears evenly
• Nice variety of colors
• Inexpensive
• Creamy finish & texture

Dislikes:

• They don't feel hydrating
• Cap easily falls off
• Aren't as long lasting as other drugstore stains

Overall:

These didn't really knock my socks off, but I think that they are 'okay' for the price. They did leave behind a decent stain, and the pigmentation is impressive. However, I wasn't crazy about the way that these felt on my lips.. they aren't moisturizing at all. Be careful if you tend to have dry lips, because I feel like that could be an issue.

Overall, I wouldn't recommend these over the Hard Candy All Glossed Up pencils, or the Jordana Twist and Shines, but I do think that some people will find these enjoyable since they are pretty cheap compared to most drugstore stains. These aren't anywhere near being a favorite for me, but I don't think that they are terrible. All in all, I would say if you want to try them, wait for them to go on sale.

Wet n' Wild Drinking a Glass of Shine Color Icon Trio

Wet n' Wild makes some great eyeshadow palettes, my favorite one is Nude Awakening from the Spring collection. I came across this limited edition trio from the newest collection called 'In the Spotlight' for Holiday 2013. 

There are six trios in the collection, and I bought 'Drinking a Glass of Shine'. 

Up close, you can see that these are cream based shadows. The glitter looks like it's loaded in there, but it's actually only on the surface.

Here are the swatches, as you can see the cream is very sheer. The glitter is what stands out most with this trio. These swatches were three swipes each.

Claims: "Beautifully enhances to create the perfect look. All day crease-resistance color".

Pigmentation: This trio has a gel base that is almost completely clear. The glitter will show up if you heavily swatch it.

Finish/Texture: The finish is glittery, and the texture is almost chunky. It doesn't spread on evenly at all, and the glitter feels very rough.

Lasting Power: I didn't actually wear this trio, since it's not safe for the eyes.

Packaging: The case is made of plastic, it's the standard cases that most wetnwild trios have. It's a bit on the cheap side.

Price/Availability: I paid $3 at Walgreens.

Likes:

• I honestly didn't like anything about this trio.

Dislikes:

• No pigment
• Greasy, chunky, gritty texture
• Unsafe for the eye area
• Not an actual cream shadow/more of a gel
• Misleading advertisement

Overall:
I would never use this palette, ever, even if it was safe for my eyes. The glitter only shows up if you layer it a ton of times, and the cream base has no pigment. I hate the way that it felt, it was greasy and rough at the same time. I'm confused with  the claims, why would they say it's crease-resistant, if it's not safe for the eye area? Also, why would you include an eyeshadow brush and sponge tip in the packaging? A bit misleading..

Basically, I had no idea that this wasn't safe for the eyes until I read it on the back (which was in very small writing). I feel like if people knew that these were for areas other than the eyes, they probably wouldn't sell. It's almost like being tricked! I was disgusted by the terrible quality of this trio, and the holiday collection in general was disappointing. 

I also found out that Wet n Wild told Nouveau Cheap that these palettes are intended for use on the eyes, but they had to slap on a warning label on the back of the product to be safe, because of 'large glitter pieces'. Ok that totally makes sense, create a product that's intended for use on an area where it's unsafe. 

Well this turned into a bit of a rant..

Wet N Wild Eyeshadow Trios: Cool As a Cucumber and Sweet As Candy

Wet N' Wild eyeshadows have such a great reputation in the beauty community. That's the reason why I decided to give them a try a few years ago, and I've been obsessed since! Recently I got two trios that I overlooked, Sweet As Candy and Cool as a Cucumber.

These trios are completely new to me!

Here are the trios up close, they both contain satin finish shadows.

Here are the swatches for the Sweet As Candy trio. Each of the shadows are satin finish and very pigmented. This trio reminds me a lot of Walking On Eggshells by Wet N Wild, which is my favorite! All of these shadows are gorgeous. 

Here are the swatches for the Cool As a Cucumber trio. This trio wasn't very pigmented at all, the only decent shadow was the one labelled 'eyelid'. I wasn't impressed at all with these shadows. So disappointing! 

Claims: "Coordinating trio shades takes the guesswork out of creating the perfect eye look." I couldn't find any other claims on these shadows. 
Pigmentation: The pigmentation on Sweet As Candy was excellent, but Cool As A Cucumber was very patchy. 
Finish/Texture: The finish of the shadows are all satiny, they are like shimmers that don't have any glitter in them. The texture on Cool As A Cucumber was chalky, but Sweet As Candy was very smooth.
Lasting Power: The lasting power on most Wet N Wild shadows is all day. Cool As A Cucumber isn't a trio that I would recommend wearing though.
Packaging: The packaging of Wet N Wild shadows is very basic. 
Price/Availability: Each trio was $3 at Target.


Likes:

• Sweet As Candy is pigmented, smooth, and rich
• These trios are inexpensive

Dislikes:

• Cool As A Cucumber is patchy/not pigmented

Overall:
I really love the quality and pigmentation of Sweet As Candy. All of the shadows in that trio are pigmented and beautiful! Cool As a Cucumber is patchy and chalky. It was just awful, and I totally wasn't expecting it to be bad, but oh well! 

Most of Wet N Wild's trios are great quality, especially for the price. I have so many of their eight pan palettes, trios, singles... I could rave on and on about how much I love their shadows. They are soft, buttery, and pigmented..but sometimes there are flops!

Limited Edition Wet N' Wild Pop Art Craze Collection

Just when I thought Wet N' Wild limited edition collections couldn't get any better, Pop Art Craze came along. There are six different trios, most of the shadows have a matte finish, and they're only about three dollars a piece. This collection is definitely bright, fun, and something totally different from anything that I've ever seen at the drugstore. It's nice to finally have some bright shadow choices available at the drugstore! 

These are all six of the trios, and yes, that is the display in the background. Isn't it cute? The girl at the store let me keep it, which was so nice of her! I love the pop art theme of this collection.

Likes: 

• Inexpensive, about $3 each
• Variety of colors to choose from

• Packaging is a bit flimsy

Overall:
Wet N Wild did an amazing job at creating bright, fun trios for summer! So many creative looks can be made with these, the possibilities are endless. I love that these shades are pigmented without a base (with the exception of a few shades, I explain more in the video) and that they are seriously affordable at about $3 each. I have never seen a drugstore collection like this before, the quality of the shadows is the same great Wet N' Wild formula that is one of my all-time favorites. 

The Pop Art Craze collection is something that I will be sad to see leave the shelves. I really wish that these would be permanent! I've already got a backup of Three's a Party, which is my favorite trio of the entire collection.

Wet N' Wild Color Icon Palette in Nude Awakening

I went crazy looking for this palette! I hunted from drugstore to drugstore with my mom for days on end to find it! I'm a huge Wet N' Wild shadow enthusiast, and neutral shadows are my absolute favorite.. basically Nude Awakening was (and now is) a must have for me! 

Nude Awakening is one of two limited edition palettes that were released for Spring 2013. As you can see, the packaging is different than the usual black! This palette is white plastic decorated with flowers, so cute! 

There are eight shades total in Nude Awakening. It reminds me a lot of the Urban Decay Naked palette! 

The first four swatches are the left side of the palette, and the other four are the right side of the palette. The left browbone shade and the left crease shade have a matte finish. The rest of the shadows have a satin finish. Each shadow is silky smooth and very pigmented. I only needed one swipe to get full color. The first swatch looks unnoticeable, but that is because the color is such a close match to my skintone. It's a perfect brow bone shade for me!

 All swatches are without primer.

Claims: "Eight dynamic, perfectly color-coordinated shades with high pigment and pearl for ultra-impact color."
Pigmentation: The pigmentation on each shadow is excellent! The quality is amazing.
Finish/Texture: There are two finishes in this palette, matte and satin. The texture of each shadow is silky smooth. The softness is comparable to Lorac and Urban Decay shadows.
Lasting Power: These shadows last all day on me without primer, but if you have oily lids I suggest using a primer as needed.
Packaging: I love the cute design on the palette. However, the thin plastic isn't strong enough to protect the shadows if you were to travel or accidentally drop the palette. 
Price/Availability: I paid $5 at CVS, this is limited edition! 

Likes:

• Inexpensive, only $5 
• Silky, smooth texture
• Excellent pigmentation
• Cute packaging
• Great selection of nudes/different finishes

Dislikes:

• This palette is limited edition and hard to find
• These shadows are very soft, may break easily

Overall:
Nude Awakening is the best neutral palette I have ever seen at the drugstore! The pigmentation and silky texture is nothing short of high end. The price is unbeatable, it's only five dollars for eight great quality shadows. The packaging is really cute, but it's not durable enough for travel. I really wish that Wet N' Wild would make this palette permanent, because I'm loving it so much that I almost don't want to use it! If you wand to get your hands on the beautiful Nude Awakening palette, I suggest finding it quickly! On top of being difficult to find, these are sold out almost everywhere.

Wet N' Wild Megalast Liquid Lip Color

Let me start off by saying, this is the weirdest texture I have ever encountered in a lip product. I don't know exactly what Wet N Wild was trying to achieve here. I have searched everywhere on their website and couldn't find any claims! In general I am a fan of liquid lipsticks (I think that's what this product is) but the formula was unbelievably unpleasant. Wet N' Wild has some drugstore gems, but this isn't one of them.

I picked up 3 of the 13 available shades: Back to the Fuchsia, Red My Mind, and Click on my Hyperpink.

As you can see, the wands are very messy. The tube inside doesn't have a wiper, causing the doefoot applicators to have too much product.

Back to the Fuchsia is a medium raspberry pink. Red my Mind is a true red that leans a bit towards the cooler side. Click on my Hyperpink is a light cool toned pink. These three shades are all matte and don't contain any glitter or sparkle. Click here, to see a lip swatch (Just warning you it isn't pretty!)

Claims: I couldn't find any claims on this product! 
Packaging: These lip colors are packaged in a plastic tube that has an hour-glass shaped handle. The doefoot applicator is loaded with too much product. 
Pigmentation: The pigmentation is definitely there. Each lip color gives opaque, bright color within one swipe. There's a wide variety of shades to choose from (nudes, reds, shimmers, etc)
Finish/Texture: This is the biggest problem with this product, the texture and finish are both very unflattering. After the lip color dries, it leaves your mouth looking cracked and extremely dry. The texture feels very thick, although the product itself is a bit thin (I told you it was weird). After these set, they make your mouth feel dehydrated! Yuck.
Scent: There was a strong chemical scent to these. 
Lasting Power: I couldn't stand the way my lips felt like they were being suffocated, so I removed this product immediately. The swatches stained my arm and lips for a few days.
Price/Availability: I paid $3.50 for each at Walgreens

Likes:

• Bright, excellent pigmentation
• Variety of colors

Dislikes:

• The texture is very thick and slippery at first
• Once it dries, it makes your lips feel extremely dry
• Makes lips appear to be cracked/emphasizes lines
• Feels very uncomfortable
• Stains your lips/skin 
• Difficult to remove

Overall:
Wet N' Wild usually is a hit or miss for me. They have some really good products, and then products like this that aren't quality. What I disliked most about these is the way they felt on my mouth, like I hadn't used lip balm in 10 years. Once these dry, they are extremely difficult to remove (it takes serious scrubbing with makeup remover). The overall finish is very unflattering, since lines are emphazised, and makes lips appear cracked. The chemical scent and wasteful packaging are also things that bother me with this product. 

It was strange to me that I couldn't find any claims on these liquid lip colors.  I am truly curious on what Wet N' Wild had in mind when creating these. They remind me of a liquid lipstick, but they also stain, so I am not sure what the goal is. The formula is nothing like a general stain or liquid lipstick, it is more like a "24 hour" or long-lasting lipstick.  If I find any information about the claims I'll be updating this post! 

Wet N' Wild Coverall Cream Foundation and Powder

As some of you know, Wet N Wild is adding tons of new products into their entire line for spring 2013!  Drugstore cream foundations are hard to come by, especially in lighter shades. This foundation range contains seven shades, and I chose the lightest one, 815 Fair. I also decided to try the powder, since Wet N' Wild had coupons on their packaging! I only spent about $6.50 to try both items, which is a great deal! 

I already had a feeling that these were both going to be too dark for me, but I kept my hopes up because of my experience with the Revlon Nearly Naked foundation. Unfortunately, the foundation and the powder looked orange on my skin, and the formula wasn't very forgiving.

Coverall Cream Foundation
Claims: "All day wear, satin-matte finish, Visibright complex reduces the appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenates skin."
Formula: The formula is very matte, but it did not look satiny at all. It actually enlarged the appearance of my pores and emphasized fine lines, because the foundation settled into them. 
Coverage: The coverage is the only good thing about this foundation. It gives an overall even tone (although it was orange on me) and hides blemishes and redness, even freckles if desired.
Finish: I would say that the finish is matte and a bit drying. It didn't brighten the appearance of my skin, in fact it made it appear duller than it was before. The overall feel of this foundation is thick, and heavy. I just didn't like the way it sat on my skin, and didn't blend evenly.
Lasting Power: I felt very uncomfortable wearing this foundation, and removed it quickly.  I didn't wear it long enough to determine the true staying power. 
Scent: There is no scent to this foundation.
Packaging: The foundation comes in a tube with a twist off cap. The nozzle allows the foundation to be squeezed out easily. I really liked the packaging!
Price/Availability: I paid $3.50 at Walgreens ( It came with a $1 off coupon)

Wet N Wild Coverall Pressed Powder
Claims: "All day, weightless wear, Visibright complex reduces the appearance of wrinkles and rejuvenates skin."
Formula: This is just a standard pressed powder. It felt smooth to the touch, and didn't contain any shimmer. The powder was completely orange on my skin! 
Coverage: I would say that the coverage is full. After I applied the powder with a brush, it looked very matte, and you could definitely tell that I had powder on. 
Finish: The overall look of this powder is very artificial. The shade was completely off and the finish was so matte that made my skin look very unnatural. 
Scent: There is no scent to this powder.
Packaging: The plastic, rectangular packaging does contain a small sponge, but no mirror. I prefer my powders to come with a mirror for on-the-go touch ups. The sponge doesn't work very well and feels cheap.
Price/Availability: I paid $2.50 at Walgreens ( It came with a $1 off coupon)

Likes:

• The packaging on the foundation is great, very hygienic and easy to control the amount of product
• Both products are unscented
• Both products are affordable

Dislikes:

• The overall finish on both products looked artificial
• The shades were both orange on my skin
• The foundation felt thick and heavy/ uncomfortable to wear
• Both products were difficult to blend
• The formula of the foundation made my skin look dull/dry and emphasized my pores and fine lines
• The powder comes with a cheap sponge and no mirror
• The shade range only has beige tones, nothing dark or light

Overall
I was having high hopes for this foundation and powder, but they were both the wrong shade and did absolutely nothing for my complexion. I just couldn't stand how thick and heavy the cream foundation felt on my face. It made my pores look gigantic, and highlighted every fine line. The coverage was definitely there, but orange isn't my shade. The powder was equally disappointing. The shade was also very orange, and the finish was harsh and artificial. Both products were difficult to blend. Unfortunately, these products just didn't work for my skin. I won't be repurchasing them in the future, in fact I have already returned them. If you have fine lines, pale or dark skin, or dry skin of any kind I would recommend skipping these.
