Nude Awakening is one of two limited edition palettes that were released for Spring 2013. As you can see, the packaging is different than the usual black! This palette is white plastic decorated with flowers, so cute!
There are eight shades total in Nude Awakening. It reminds me a lot of the Urban Decay Naked palette!
The first four swatches are the left side of the palette, and the other four are the right side of the palette. The left browbone shade and the left crease shade have a matte finish. The rest of the shadows have a satin finish. Each shadow is silky smooth and very pigmented. I only needed one swipe to get full color. The first swatch looks unnoticeable, but that is because the color is such a close match to my skintone. It's a perfect brow bone shade for me!
All swatches are without primer.
Claims: "Eight dynamic, perfectly color-coordinated shades with high pigment and pearl for ultra-impact color."
Pigmentation: The pigmentation on each shadow is excellent! The quality is amazing.
Finish/Texture: There are two finishes in this palette, matte and satin. The texture of each shadow is silky smooth. The softness is comparable to Lorac and Urban Decay shadows.
Lasting Power: These shadows last all day on me without primer, but if you have oily lids I suggest using a primer as needed.
Packaging: I love the cute design on the palette. However, the thin plastic isn't strong enough to protect the shadows if you were to travel or accidentally drop the palette.
Price/Availability: I paid $5 at CVS, this is limited edition!
Likes:
- Inexpensive, only $5
- Silky, smooth texture
- Excellent pigmentation
- Cute packaging
- Great selection of nudes/different finishes
- This palette is limited edition and hard to find
- These shadows are very soft, may break easily
Nude Awakening is the best neutral palette I have ever seen at the drugstore! The pigmentation and silky texture is nothing short of high end. The price is unbeatable, it's only five dollars for eight great quality shadows. The packaging is really cute, but it's not durable enough for travel. I really wish that Wet N' Wild would make this palette permanent, because I'm loving it so much that I almost don't want to use it! If you wand to get your hands on the beautiful Nude Awakening palette, I suggest finding it quickly! On top of being difficult to find, these are sold out almost everywhere.
I found my palette by using Nouveau Cheap's interactive sightings map, which you can find here. Thank goodness for her maps, they are such a big help!
Have you tried Nude Awakening yet?
Oh my! I hope I can find this!! What a beautiful palette! :) x
ReplyDeletei scored this from a blogsale and love it, such a cute palette
ReplyDeleteI am soooooo envious of this beautiful palette. I tried my first shadows from Wet n Wild the other day and they're simply beautiful. I'd love to own this but that's never gonna happen.. A girl can dream though, right? Xxx
ReplyDeleteI sold a few of these on Ebay a while back. Maybe some other people are selling them still! I'm glad that you like the shadows that you tried, Wet N Wild makes some of my favorite drugstore trios :)
DeleteI saw this a few weeks back but passed on it and went with the walking on eggshells 3 shadow pallet. Might need to give this a second look, I am really into brown shimmer shadows right now!
ReplyDeleteOh, you should get it! It has shimmery browns, I think you would like it :)
DeleteIt's so frustrating when the makeup that you want to buy is hard to track down. Glad you managed to find one of these though :) It definitely reminds me of the Naked palette. Such an excellent option for those who won't want to spend money on the Urban Decay :)
ReplyDeleteI know it is, I hate that so much. I agree, this is one of the best palettes I've found that is a good dupe :)
DeleteI am one of those people who won't (can't) spend $50 on the UD Naked palette. Would LOVE it, but this W&W one seems like a nice option. Shame it's Limited Edition!
ReplyDeleteI know, I want to get a backup of this but I already can't find it in stores..
DeleteUnfortunate about it breaking easily, ;_;
ReplyDeletewww.totallybebe.blogspot.com
Well, mine hasn't broke, but since the packaging is flimsy and the shadows are soft I'm guessing that it isn't travel friendly. I won't travel with it because I'm paranoid.
DeleteGosh I do love these palettes, I have 'comfort zone' and im amazed by the pigmentation :)
ReplyDeleteLovely review, Im following you x

DeleteThis palette looks gorgeous! We used to have Wet n Wild in the UK, I'm sure of it. Gutted we don't have them anymore :(

Hmm, I wonder why it's no longer available? Thanks for reading!
DeleteI STILL haven't seen these at my local drugstores. Sigh. Limited Edition drugstore products take so long to get to PR. I still haven't seen the new Revlon Lip Butter colors either. I feel like a stalker everytime I go to Walgreens. I check on those 2 products right away, haha. xx
ReplyDeleteIt took me a while to find them myself! I hope you get them soon. We all have our stalker moments! :D xo
Deletewe wish this was available in australia! we love our nude palettes and can't get over the fact that this is only $5!! we've heard so much about wet 'n' wild too :(

Darn, I sold a few on Ebay, maybe there are others out there!
DeleteThe colours look amazing for drugstore! I really do hope I can get my hands on one of these- might be tricky as I live in the UK and to find wet 'n' wild is rare here :(

They really are! I imagine this will be difficult for you to find, since it was very hard for me and I live in the US where WNW is readily available. It took me almost 2 weeks and I actually had to use a sightings map to find it! Best of luck!
