Maybelline Color Tattoos by Eyestudio / $7 each at Rite Aid
There are the six new, limited edition color tattoos from the Dare to Go Nude Collection for Spring 2014. love the fact that they are all neutrals!
Top Row (left to right): Pure Nude, Stroke of Midnight, Sleek & Spice
Bottom Row (left to right): Nude Compliment, Caramel Cool, Beige-ing Beauty
From left to right: Sleek & Spice, Stroke of Midnight, Pure Nude, Caramel Cool, Beige-ing Beauty, and Nude Compliment.
Sleek & Spice is a smoky brownish taupe, with an almost metallic finish. Stroke of Midnight is a true black with subtle silver/blue sparkle, this shade is a bit patchy. Pure Nude is an opaque champagne shimmer. Caramel Cool is a warm bronze with a metallic finish. Beige-ing Beauty is a yellowish gold with silver shimmer, also a bit patchy. Nude Compliment is an opaque shimmery cool-toned taupe. These swatches are all two swipes each. Nude Compliment and Sleek & Spice are my favorites of this collection!
Pigmentation: I feel like the lighter shades are less pigmented than the deeper shades, but they are easy to layer and build color so it doesn't bother me. The darker shades have excellent color payoff, one swipe is all you need to get full color.
Finish/Texture: The finish on all six of these is shimmery, almost metallic. The texture on each shadow is very creamy, and can easily be blended with fingers or a brush.
Lasting Power: I have never experienced creasing or fading with Color Tattoos, they last all day for me. I wouldn't doubt the 24 hour claim on these, they are that good.
Packaging: Each shadow is packaged in a small glass pot, with a screw on lid.
Price/Availability: These are $7 each at Rite Aid

Overall:
Maybelline won me over again with this collection of beautiful neutrals. I'm a neutral shadow fanatic, and this was exactly what I've been wanting to see from Maybelline. Each color will compliment any skin tone, and can be used to create many different looks. Plus, they are under ten dollars, which blows my mind...because I prefer the quality of these over MAC paint pots!
I love that Color Tattoos can be worn alone or used as a base for shadows. I often wear mine both ways, and once the shadow dries, it stays on for good. It's easy to remove at the end of the day, and never feels uncomfortable on my eyes. I have at least fifteen different shades now, and none of them have ever creased or faded on me. Maybelline Color Tattoos will always be one of my all time favorite drugstore products!
If you would like to see the other items that I purchased in this collection, check out my Dare to Go Nude Collection swatch video below!

I have always wanted to try these but the one's that I usually see are just way too bright for my non eyeshadow wearing self! But I want to start getting into eyeshadows more! I'm loving the Pure Nude and Beige-ing Beauty and think they'd be so great for starting out with and for every day use! Time for me to find them now!

I love these:) Especially the nude shades. I wish we would get those:)
ReplyDeleteI need Beige-ing Beauty it would look perfect with winged liner! I do love these color tattoos!
ReplyDelete*Freak out session!! I had no idea about these limited edition eyeshadows! I have two of the original color tattoos and love them! I'm REALLY wanting the Pure Nude shade! It looks beautiful! Question though- every time I use my color tattoos they crease. I use primer, so do you think I just have oily eyelids or something?

I never use a primer when I wear these, I suggest that you try wearing it alone! If that doesn't help than maybe you should try a primer with an oil absorbing formula :)
DeleteI hope you can get Pure Nude! It is gorgeous!
urban decay's eyeshadow primer potion in the shade 'eden' is mattifying and colour-correcting, i highly recommend it for oily lids! also, i find that applying a powder shadow over the top makes the colour pop even more and helps it stay longer on the lids - kind of like setting your foundation with powder i guess!
DeleteI'm sooo jealous! Why has maybelline released so many shades but only 8 have reached singapore! I'm so missing out! I'd love to have cameral cool and nude compliment!
ReplyDeleteI don't know why they do that either, I think it's annoying! Hopefully you can find them someway :)
DeleteI was lucky enough to find a complete/untouched display at CVS today, luckily I had already watched your video and picked up the 2 colors you recommended lol (Nude Compliment and Sleek & Spice). I also picked up 2 of the lipsticks.
ReplyDeleteOoohh those are so beautiful! Can't wait to get my hands on them!

I think I also like Nude Compliment and Sleek & Spice the best! Thank you so much for these prompt swatches--it will make picking out a few much easier for me rather than buying ones I won't use!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the review, info, and swatches. I LOVE the Maybelline Color Tattoos and will for sure grab these when I see them in the stores.
ReplyDeleteI need these in my life! So glad they finally came out with some neutral shades, but it's totally a bummer that these are limited edition. They need to make these permanent!
ReplyDeleteCaramel cool is the shade for me - it looks a gorgeous golden base shade :o) Xx

I'm still waiting for limited edition Color Tattoos from like a year ago to hit our shores. Losing hope :( I think I need Sleek & Spice and Caramel Cool - those two are the ones that I'd probably get the most wear out of. I still am partial to my Bad to the Bronze though - it's my absolute favourite :)
ReplyDeleteGreat post! They're such great colours - might be investing in some :D

I almost picked these up the other day. Maybe I will go back and pick up some for a giveaway. Thanks the review!

I still can't find these anywhere! I have seen the entire collection (minus the CTs) at local Walgreen's and CVS's but these aren't even included in the collection… not even a spot for them! So frustrating!!
ReplyDeleteCoucou ♥.
ReplyDeleteI just love the Color eyes tattoo by Gemey-Maybelline but, in France, we have just some examples and no much colors in choice (sorry for my mistakes, haha). I really like this collection, it's so beautiful :)
Kisses from France,
Eléanor.
Thanks to you I learned about these and love them! I got 2 of them now I need to check to see which colors I got. I found them a couple weeks ago at a CVS that had more makeup options including the new NYX display. I found them by accident right when I was about to check out. It was a win win. - Holly@redberrydeals.com
ReplyDeleteOh my god I need all of these! I hope they come out in Australia. I have a few of the other regular colour tattoos but I am much more partial to neutrals. Nude compliment looks particularly awesome. I think I am going to Facebook message Maybelline Australia now to see if they are coming out here. NEED IT!
ReplyDeleteThanks for the great review and putting them on my radar.
