Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch
Flush of Pearl and Radiant Rose
Flush of Pearl (left) and Radiant Rose (right)
To the left of each concentrated swatch is a blended swatch. Flush of Pearl is a champagne with white shimmer. Radiant Rose is a mauve pink that also has white shimmer. I find that the base color disappears easily when it's blended out, basically leaving you with white shimmer on the cheeks.
Claims: "Lightweight, ultra blendable mousse formula gives an instant touch of radiance and illuminates the skin. Wakes up skin with a healthy looking glow and a long lasting flush of colour."
Finish/Texture: The finish of these is shimmery, but it doesn't actually brighten. The texture felt more like a cream than a mousse.
Lasting Power: I started to see color fading after two hours of wear.
Scent: They were unscented.
Packaging: I love the way the squeeze tube controls how much product comes out!
Price/Availability: I paid $4.47 each at Wal-Mart
Likes:
- Nice Packaging
- Easy to blend
Dislikes:
- Doesn't brighten the skin
- Color fades quickly
- Many layers are needed to see actual color
- Looks like white glitter when blended out
- Not a mousse formula
Overall:
I honestly had no idea what to expect when I bought these. I just went out on a limb because I was so excited to see something that usually isn't available in my area. Unfortunately, these don't live up to any of their claims. I felt like the formula was more of a cream than a mousse. The color disappeared when I blended it into my skin, leaving me with unnatural white-glitter cheeks- not a good look! Overall, these were disappointing, I'll be sticking with my Physicians Formula highlighters!
I swatched these instore a few months ago and thought how rubbish they were!!! So overpriced for a glittery cream that does nothing it promises! xx

I know, I really had high hopes for them. I got excited over nothing!
DeleteThe swatches don't look so bad(although the pink looks more like a blush than a highlighter). But I take it they didn't look as good on your face?
ReplyDeleteYeah, I mentioned above that when heavily layered they look best. But if you look at my blended out swatches you can see that the base color just disappears and leaves white glitter behind. The color doesn't even show up on my face at all! That's why I excluded face swatches this time.
DeleteToo bad :( There is something about the rimmel wake me up line that dissapoints me a bit and I still dont know what it is x(

Well I tried everything in the line offered here and wasn't impressed with anything!
DeleteSorry to hear these were a disappointment! I did see them in the shops here but I'm generally not a fan of liquidy highlighters (Benefit High Beam is the only exception) so I stayed away. It's too bad they were more glittery than glowy! Also, thanks for the comments you left on my older posts - I loved that you read back on them! :)
ReplyDeleteI'm not either, I'm a powder highlight kinda girl. I guess I just got so excited that I saw something new, haha. No problem, I loveeee pretty much everything you write:)
DeleteI bought the concealer (2x the first time I choose one too dark as well for me) it doesn't cover much but I do use it everyday and am also out of it:P I was thinking of trying these out but was on the fence glad to see a review of them.
ReplyDeleteGlad to help :)
DeleteI haven't even seen those this side of the pond! But won't be looking for them if I do now. I do however love the wake me up foundation for day time use!
ReplyDeleteI wish that they had the foundation, I don't know why they had the concealer there without it!
DeleteAh, I almost bought one of these a while ago! I kept thinking about them but now I can skip them, thanks for the review :)
ReplyDeleteNo problem:)
DeleteThanks for the review! What color concealer did you get? I am fair skinned as well and get sad when a company doesn't make concealers/foundations light enough!
ReplyDeleteNo prob! I got the lightest one that they had (forgot the name), it was too dark for me :(
